Merry Christmas!

"It came without ribbons!  It came without tags!  It came without packages, boxes or bags!"... Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn't before!  "Maybe Christmas," he thought, "doesn't come from a store.  Maybe Christmas... perhaps... means a little bit more!"  ~Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

On behalf of free to be yoga tees®, I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a new year filled with peace, joy and love!

keep calm & be merry

“Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.” ~Calvin Coolidge

At the beginning of this holiday season I decided this was going to be the year I scaled back and made my best attempt to enjoy the true meaning of Christmas--rather than get caught up in the chaos December usually brings.  “Less is more” became my mantra for this holiday season.

I’m proud to say I’ve scaled back somewhat, but as Christmas draws near, I feel myself getting sucked into all hoopla that I have tried so hard to avoid.

Decorating, Christmas cards, baking, shopping, etc.--all synonymous with the holidays.  And while these can be fun and are often considered traditions, when they become more “work” than fun, what’s the point?

I know I’m not alone on this feeling.  In fact, one day this month I was at a department store browsing around for gift ideas, and was nearly knocked over by an anxious shopper who couldn’t even slow down or say ‘excuse me.’  Where is the holiday spirit!?

So “less is more” is going to remain my goal now through Christmas, in an effort to truly enjoy the season and keep it simple.  This time of year is supposed to be joyful and merry, not stressful and scary! ;)

I encourage you all to slow down and enjoy the holiday season!  Keep calm & be merry.

Until next time...

Welcome Home Traveling Mike!

“The journey is the reward.” ~Chinese Proverb

Well...as they say, all good things must come to an end.  Traveling Mike’s one year sabbatical is over, and so is the the journey of one free to be yoga tee.

If you aren’t familiar with Traveling Mike, I will briefly fill you in.  Mike is my cousin, a true free spirit.  He left his stable and well-paying job a year ago to travel the world by himself!  With a one-way ticket and a carry-on bag, he set out with a list of places he planned to visit on his journey.  Before he left for his adventure, I gave him a free to be yoga tee and crossed my fingers it would make it into his small bag.  And to my amazement, it did and the end result was over 130 amazing photos of Traveling Mike   sporting his free to be yoga tee around the world.

First, I’d like to say:  THANKS, MIKE!!! :)

I had such a great time following Mike’s travels through all of the great photos he took, and I hope you did too!  From Hong Kong to Vietnam to Cambodia to Indonesia to Thailand to Australia to Chile to Bolivia...you get the point.  It was the next best thing to being there!!

The pictures can be found in the ‘Traveling Mike’ album on free to be yoga tees’ Facebook page, or by clicking here.

I did gift Mike with a brand new tee upon his arrival back home.  I have a feeling he isn’t done with his travels yet, so perhaps we’ll see his newest free to be yoga tee pop up in a far-off land sometime in the near future!  And maybe this time Traveling Mike will take me with him!   Africa, maybe? :)

Until next time...

“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” -Friedrich Nietzsche

I came across the quote above some time ago and really fell in love with the saying.  And while I sometimes don’t agree with it since I am always right (haha, kidding of course!), I do find it fitting heading into the home stretch of this election year.

It’s been an ugly political season.  You can’t go anywhere without encountering hateful and often misleading/misinformed ads.

As the two sides battle it out in this last, pivotal week, I’m not going to harp on who I think should win the election in this blog entry.  Although I think my views are quite clear since the environment is so important to me, but again, that’s my opinion.

What I wanted to touch upon today is the importance of voting.  There is no time for apathy here--we are fortunate to have the right to vote!  So use your voice and make it count.  A lot of people sit around and complain, but few do anything about it.  Be the change.

Research what is important to you...know the candidates and what they stand for...and show up.  It’s not that hard.  I know we are all busy, but if you don’t show up to vote, you have no room to complain.

Until next time...

Namaste

My journey with yoga off the mat

“If you want to awaken all of humanity,
then awaken all of yourself.
If you want to eliminate the suffering in the world,
then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself.
Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation.” ~Lao Tzu

It’s National Yoga Month--in honor of that--I wanted to share a little more of my yoga journey with you.

Last September,  I blogged a little bit about my love affair with yoga and how it’s brought me to where I am today. I discussed how it helped me manage chronic pain, work through anxiety and stress, and fully realize the power of the mind-body connection.

Since then, I’ve struggled with a regular yoga practice due to circumstances out of my control, but thanks to the foundation I’ve learned from yoga, it’s truly helped me take my practice off the mat and into the world.

I’ve embraced the fact that there is a lot more to yoga than the physical practice. The philosophies deep at the root of yoga of how to live your life, how to treat others, to be more mindful, less judgmental, more compassionate, and to live in the moment....that’s also the yoga.

Perhaps it’s a blessing that my physical practice has been limited and I’ve ventured into exploring deeper.  I know it’s inspired me profoundly and helped me find direction when it comes to free to be yoga tees®.

Yoga Aid founder, Clive Mayhew, may have summed it up best. “If you do yoga, the desire to give develops.  It’s not about asana (poses); it’s about how, through asana, you can give more.”

So while I’m not rocking my down dog or warrior poses as frequently as I would like, yoga is still a part of my daily life.  It’s ignited a fire deep within to constantly work toward peace, hope and change for the better.  We can all make a difference in this world, but it must start with ourselves.

Namaste,
Julie

Live in hope - Polar Bear Charitee

“Animals can communicate quite well.  And they do.  And generally speaking, they are ignored.”  ~Alice Walker

Over the past couple of years, I’ve really started to dig deeper and learn more on climate change and the effect it’s having on wildlife.  In particular, I’ve become increasingly fascinated with the polar bears.

I find it heart breaking that these creatures are struggling so much, with their home literally melting under their feet.  I’ve done a great deal of reading up on these sea bears, as they are often called, as well as their home in the Arctic.

I felt compelled to do more, which is why I’ve decided to donate a portion of sales of each yoga tee sold (in the unisex polar bear charitee style) to charities supporting the efforts to save the polar bears, as well as work toward making the Arctic a global sanctuary.

At present, only 20,000-25,000 of these amazing creatures remain in the wild, and their survival is in jeopardy .

Due to climate change, the shorter sea ice season has decreased the amount of time bears can hunt for their prey.  Polar bears rely on the ice to hunt, breed, and den.  Without it, they can’t survive. Many polar bears now suffer from malnutrition and others face starvation, especially females with cubs.

The sea ice loss resulting from climate change is testing the limits of these incredible swimmers--forcing the bears to embark on longer and longer swims.  In one recent study, a collared female polar bear embarked on a 426 mile swim over nine days without finding a resting place.  In the process, her cub died and she lost 22% of her body weight.

Scientists believe we still have time to save the polar bears if we significantly reduce greenhouse emissions within the next few years.  Yet it will take 30 to 40 years for changes reversing the warming trend to show.  If we do not take action, scientists predict we’ll lose two-thirds of the world’s polar bears by mid-century and all of them by the end of the century.

Turning to the Arctic, home to the polar bears, it faces a great threat right now, and believe it or not, it affects you and me as well!

The ice at the top of the world reflects much of the sun’s heat back into space and keeps our whole planet cool.  Startling data gives all of us reason for concern.  In the last 30 years, 75% of the floating ice cap at the top of the world has melted, and in the near future it could be ice free for the first time since humans walked the Earth.

In June of this year, the sea ice retreat was the largest loss on record for the month since satellite records began, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.  In addition to devastating effects this has on the wildlife that call the polar region home, it affects every living thing on Earth.

The Arctic acts as the world’s refrigerator, keeping Earth cool.  As the ice melts and the planet gets warmer, all of us will experience the effects in one way or another (a lot of us already are!)--from coastal flooding, unstable weather patterns, extreme heat, fires, droughts, etc.

Not only is the Arctic under threat from climate change, but also from industrial fishing, shipping, and oil companies looking to drill in the dangerous and fragile waters of the Arctic Ocean.

The impact of a spill on Arctic wildlife would be devastating, including significant long-term impacts on polar bears, narwhals, Arctic foxes, owls, orca and breeding colonies of Atlantic puffins and razorbills.  Marine mammals, such as seals and walruses, may also be affected through the food chain.  An oil spill could blanket the Arctic Refuge with an irremovable layer of toxic oil for generations--and sadly, oil-covered polar bears have virtually no chance of survival.

The polar bears face an uphill battle, but if we all pitch in, together, we can be the change .  The time is now to be the voice for the polar bears, and to support the campaign for a global sanctuary for the Arctic!

So there you have it...the real story behind the newest free to be yoga tees® style.  As for which charity the shirts will benefit, I’ve decided I didn’t want to choose just one to support!  The reason is simply because there are so many amazing groups out there trying to make a difference, working to save the polar bears and protect the Arctic, that it was just too hard to narrow it down.  I will certainly keep you posted from time to time on the charities I choose to work with!! :)

The polar bear charitee comes in heather dusk (which is an earthy blue) and heather coal (dark gray) and features the quote “Live in hope,” a French proverb.  The design, printed with white water-based ink, is of a polar bear looking up at the sky.  This unisex style is made from an organic cotton/RPET (recycled plastic bottles) blend.  Sizes range from S-XL (with additional sizes coming soon).  Click here to shop now!

Until next time...

Namaste,
Julie

Fall in love with the newest styles!

“Never underestimate the power of passion.” ~Eve Sawyer

With the unofficial end of summer here, and fall in the air, I’m excited to announce the newest styles in the free to be yoga tees® line are available now at freetobeyogatees.com!

The new edition to the line includes a brand new baby-rib tank in pale pink.  By popular demand, I’ve decided to keep one of the original designs!  Gandhi’s infamous quote “Be the change you want to see in the world” is printed on these new tees, and here to stay for the foreseeable future. :)  Made from organic bamboo, this tank is great for yoga, pilates, a workout at the gym or even running errands around town!  The women’s baby-rib tank comes in sizes S-XL.  Click here to shop now!

I’m also very excited to introduce the second unisex shirt style, with a fresh new design.  The “polar bear charitee” is by far my favorite design to date, and holds a special place in my heart.

It’s called the “charitee” because a portion of sales from this style will be donated to charities supporting the efforts to save the polar bears and their home, the Arctic.  I will go into more details on this in my next blog, but I’m very excited to introduce this charitable angle to create awareness for these creatures that truly need our help.

The tee--which comes in heather dusk (which is an earthy blue) and heather coal (dark gray)--features the quote “Live in hope,” a French proverb.  The design is of a polar bear looking up toward the sky.  This unisex style is made from an organic cotton/RPET (recycled plastic bottles) blend.  Sizes range from S-XL (with additional sizes come soon).  Click here to shop now!

As always, all free to be yoga tees® styles are proudly made in the USA, and printed with water-based ink.  Each tee also comes with a wildflower-embedded hangtag that you can soak, plant and grow!

The new tees will also be available for purchase at Art-is-in Market at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi starting this weekend--so be sure to stop by and check them out if you are in the area!

Thank you for your continue support!  Please help spread the word about free to be yoga tees® by sharing this with your friends and family.  Wholesale pricing is available for yoga studios and other retailers interested in carrying the line.

Until next time...

Last chance!

“A good plan today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow.” ~Proverb

Out with the old, in with the new.  I suppose you could call that the free to be yoga tees® mantra for the next few weeks!

As I anxiously await the debut of the newest free to be yoga tee styles within the next month, it’s time to officially “retire” some of the original styles.

This Monday (August 13th) will be the final day you can purchase some of the original tees online at freetobeyogatees.com.  These include the women’s v-neck tee in charcoal black (available in size small only), as well as the women’s baby-rib tank in purely natural (available in small, medium and large) and silver gray (available in size small and medium).

Any remaining inventory left in these styles will be available for purchase at a discount starting Tuesday (August 14th) through Labor Day (September 3rd) at Art-is-in Market at Twelve Oaks Mall in Novi.

Happy shopping, and stay tuned for more info on the new designs!

TV debut!

“There is no need to reach high for the stars. They are already within you. Just reach deep into yourself!” ~Unknown

Hi there--hope you are having a fantastic summer! :)

I wanted to share a bit of exciting news.  WJBK FOX 2, the Fox affiliate in Detroit, recently came to my house to do an interview about free to be yoga tees®.

I was delighted (not to mention nervous!) to do the interview, and so grateful for the amazing opportunity.  I spoke to Emmy-winning reporter Robin Schwartz, who is part of the FOXe team (which covers “green” environmental reports, plus stories on local people and businesses that are helping clean up the planet).

I’ve included the link below.  If you have time, please check it out! (You may need to copy and paste into your web browser).

I’m excited to announce the “Anniversary Sale” in honor of free to be yoga tees® upcoming “birthday”.  While Thursday, June 28 marks the second year that free to be llc has been in business, this is the first anniversary since the shirts have been on sale, so why not celebrate the big day?! :)

Details are as follows:  The sale will start this Monday, June 25 at 10am and end Friday, June 29 at 5pm.  The sale is for online orders only--the sale does not extend to retail locations.  All styles, with the exception of the new unisex organic cotton/RPET blend tee, will be $10 off during this time!

It’s worth noting there are limited quantities and sizes left in select styles.  Once the inventory is gone, these designs will be retired--so if you have had your eyes on a certain tee, now is the time to buy!  Shop the free to be yoga tees® collection at freetobeyogatees.com!

Be Kind.

“Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” ~Mark Twain

Over the last week, the topic of kindness has popped up on several occasions.  I decided the universe was telling me it’s time to touch upon the topic in this installment of the free to be yoga tees® blog.

Kindness...where has it gone?  That is what I was thinking when I was driving around town running errands last week.  On more than one occasion while out and about, I noticed drivers honking their horns when someone sat a few seconds too long after the light turned green.  In fact, one angry driver was honking even though it was obvious that no cars were moving thanks to a construction zone back-up.  Got my wheels turning...heck, I used to be one of those super impatient, angry people...always in a rush to get to the next destination.  The reality is the journey is the destination.  This is life people...traffic jams and slow drivers.  It’s time to be kind.

A couple days later I logged onto Facebook, and one of my yoga teachers had posed the question, “Whatever happened to the art of Kindness?”  Wow, I thought..interesting timing.  It started a discussion online, which I found quite intriguing!  He went on to say:  “People think they're angry and agitated because of everyone else, but it's exactly the opposite. People are angry and agitated and afraid because they have lost the art of being kind to one and all. ONE AND ALL...not just the people you like or the ones who are getting you what you want. Here's to practicing and perfecting the art of kindness in everything we do.”  (Shout out to Nick H.-thanks for your wisdom!)

I kept thinking about kindness--and how it really seems to be lacking in today’s world--and while it’s impossible to force someone else to change, it’s pretty easy to start with yourself and start a ripple effect!

Then, this morning, I go into my e-mail and started to read a blog that I subscribe to and came across a similar message.  The entry touched upon powerful life lessons and was written by a guy who had studied under a Taoist monk (from Tiny Buddha blog, writer of entry:  Robert Piper).  Two major things stood out to me in this blog:  1.)  Patience is the gift of inner calm.  2.)  We must cultivate happiness from within, and work to spread it around to everyone we interact with.

After reading that, it was clear I was going to write about the topic that’s been in my head for the past week!  You see, it’s all related--patience, kindness, happiness.  Take a look around--this is your life.  There is no reason to walk around being miserable!  Start with yourself--look deep within and find that place of happiness.  Then take it and share it with everyone in the world that you come across.  Life is a gift...it’s best to be kind to yourself and others.   Imagine a world full of kindness!

Until next time...

more than a yoga tee

“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.”
~Benjamin Franklin

I’ve had something on my mind for awhile now, so I’ve decided to blog about it...

When I originally came up with the concept of free to be yoga tees®, the goal was to create t-shirts for yogis to wear during their practice, or in daily life as a way to express themselves off the mat.    However, soon I started to realize that these shirts are not just for yoga-lovers...they really are for everyone!

While talking with people about free to be yoga tees®, I often hear: “Well, if I ever take up yoga, I’ll have to check out your shirts.”  I began to realize that by naming them “yoga tees” I’ve created an uphill battle of trying to prove they are not just for yoga, but hey, it had a good ring to it at the time!  I guess what I’m trying to say is that free to be yoga tees® are really more than a yoga tee.

The shirts are great for working out, but they are also great for everyday life--I wear mine to run errands--heck, I’ve even slept in one on occasion because they are so darn soft!  :)

So there you have it...even if you have never practiced yoga a day in your life, you can still sport a free to be yoga tee.  My goal was to create a shirt that was comfortable, motivational and could put a smile on one’s face when they wore it--plain and simple.  And since they are earth-friendly, made in the USA and available in all shapes and sizes, what’s not to smile about?

Thanks for listening!  Until next time...

newest style on sale now

“You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you. What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” ~ Jane Goodall

The newest arrival to the free to be yoga tees® line is finally here!

The latest edition to the earth-friendly, Made-in-the-USA line is a unisex style.  The newest free to be yoga tee is an earthy color--heather bark--and the custom design work includes a peace sign with a Gandhi quote that reads:  “In a gentle way, you can shake the world.”

The new tee holds to the free to be yoga tees® standard you’ve grown to expect--the shirts are super soft, high-quality, chemical free, and feature custom design work printed with water-based ink.

Unlike the other styles in the free to be yoga tees® line--which are made from organic bamboo--the newest addition is made from 50% organic cotton/50% recycled plastic bottles!

Recycled plastic bottles, you ask?  Yes!!  Here’s how it works--when a bottle is recycled, it gets melted down and spun into polyester fibers for textiles (in this case, clothing).  This fabric, known as RPET, is then blended with the organic cotton, and a t-shirt is born!

This style, along with all free to be yoga tees® styles, are available now under the SHOP tab at freetobeyogatees.com.

Thank you for your continued support--have a beautiful day!

free to be "eco" tees

“There's a way to do it better—find it."  ~Thomas Edison

I’m getting very excited for the debut of the latest free to be yoga tee style, which will be on sale very soon!  I wanted to share a bit more with you on this brand new addition.

The newest arrival in the earth-friendly, Made-in-the-USA line is a unisex style.

When you purchase an organic cotton RPET blend free to be yoga tee, you are promoting recycling, helping to grow the market for recyclables, supporting energy savings, and believe it or not, helping to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.

Currently, 10% of US oil is used to make plastics like our soda and water bottles.  And about 70% of those bottles end up contaminating the earth as they break down over centuries in landfills.

With Earth Day fast approaching, this is a great reminder of the importance of recycling! :)

While doing research on RPET, I found some fascinating data that helped solidify my decision to add this style to the free to be yoga tees® line.  I’ve shared some of it below!

*For every pound of recycled PET flake used, energy use is reduced by 84% and greenhouse gas emission by 71%!
*Recycling a ton of PET containers saves 7.4 cubic yards of landfill space
*Nineteen 20 oz PET bottles yield enough fiber for an extra large t-shirt, or enough to make one square foot of carpet
*Recycling a single plastic bottle can conserve enough energy to light a 60-watt light blulb for up to six hours.
*Recycling one pound of PET plastic bottles saves approximately 12,000 BTUs (British thermal unit) of heat energy
*90% less water is used in making recycled polyester versus virgin polyester
(Sources:  Earth911.com & Napcor.com)

So, now you know why I’m so pumped for this new shirt!  These free to be yoga tees® are truly “eco” tees!  Stay tuned for an on sale announcement in the coming weeks!!

Until next time...

Earth Day, free shipping & more!

“When we heal the earth, we heal ourselves.” ~David Orr

April seems to be flying by!  And as an aspiring tree-hugger, one of my favorite ‘holidays’ is right around the corner...yes, Earth Day!

Earth Day started over 40 years ago and is widely credited with launching the modern environmental movement.  It’s a designated day (April 22) to increase awareness and appreciation of the Earth’s natural environment.

As you know, free to be yoga tees® prides itself for being eco-friendly.  The yoga tees are made from organic/sustainable fabrics, plus the custom design work is printed with low-impact water-based inks.  This route was a no-brainer when the free to be yoga tees® concept took off, and the commitment to grow even greener each and every day helps make this journey so exciting!

In celebration of Earth Day, free to be yoga tees® will bring back FREE SHIPPING for one week only!   Starting this Monday (April 16) at 10 a.m. through Earth Day (Sunday, April 22) at 11:59 p.m., enjoy shipping on the house for all orders on freetobeyogatees.com!  While Earth Day is only one day, we’ll be celebrating it all week long on our Facebook and Twitter pages leading up to the big day with fun ideas on what we can all do to make a difference and be “greener.”  If you haven’t connected with us socially yet, please do so! :)

Also, stay tuned for more details coming very soon on the newest free to be yoga tee which will go on sale later this spring.   I’m really excited about it and I think you will be too.

I’ll leave you with a slogan from a Coca-Cola ad I came across about a year ago...it stuck with me and it’s very appropriate given this blog entry and Earth Day right around the corner.  The ad said, “Impact the world, not the Earth.”

Happy Earth Day, everyone!

Create Balance

“The key to keeping your balance is knowing when you've lost it.” ~Anonymous

Wow, this month is flying by!  February is nearly over and I just realized this is my first blog entry of the month!

February has been jam packed--so much going on!!!  Thankfully, I was fortunate enough to squeeze in a vacation--a much needed one!  When I started my own company, I assumed getting away from work would be much easier since I was my own boss.  It’s actually the complete opposite!  And while it was difficult to leave work behind, it was wonderful to take some “me” time to recharge my batteries and seek new inspiration.

I don’t know about you, but it seems life just keeps getting crazier by the day.  With so much going on, I find it hard to carve out “me” time.  And trying to meet up with friends?  Gosh, I have to schedule that out at least a couple of weeks in advance since their schedules seem to be equally insane!  Going on vacation and slowing down the pace was a great reminder to recreate the balance.

Without balance, we’d go crazy.  It’s not healthy.  I learned that myself a few years ago.  I was a self-proclaimed workaholic, “married to my job” as I used to joke.  When I quit that job, I spent quite a bit of time at the other end of the spectrum--sleeping in every day, reading the newspaper at Starbucks each morning, practicing yoga like crazy and traveling.  Also not reality--at least not unless I win the lottery! :)  It’s all about balance.

Through my yoga practice, I’ve worked on finding balance in my life.  Unfortunately, I haven’t been to a class in quite awhile due to a grumpy body.  It’s amazing how easy it is to get off track--which is why my trip came at a great time.  Relaxing, soaking in some sunshine and enjoying the beauty of nature through some magnificent sunsets helped me check back in and focus.

So now I’m back, recharged, and ready to roll.   It’s difficult to juggle our work and personal lives, but it’s worth the effort to keep the scales leveled and constantly work at creating balance.

As of reminder of this to myself, I bought a cute little frog figurine doing yoga while on vacation that literally says “create balance.”  How perfect!  Cute, huh?

Smile! :)

Be the change.

“Man stands in his own shadow and wonders why it’s dark.” ~Zen Proverb

It doesn’t take a science degree to know that something is off.  The weather in the midwest has been above normal.  40+ degrees in January can hardly be considered winter, right?  And where is all of the snow?

Whether or not you believe climate change is a reality or just some kind of political conspiracy, it’s evident that the weather has been unusual.  I actually saw a couple robins the other day, which is typically the first sign of spring in Michigan.  It breaks my heart to see nature so confused.

What’s my point, you may ask?  I will get to that...

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably heard of the Keystone XL Tar Sands Pipeline.  Yesterday, President Barack Obama rejected the permit.   After a hard fought battle, hundreds of thousands of activist rejoiced that their voices were heard.

While there is no doubt this isn’t the last we’ve heard of the Keystone Pipeline, it does gives me hope.  Hope that expectations have risen in moving away from our dependency on oil and toward a greener future.  Hope that each of our voices, should we choose to use them, can make a difference.  We all have the power to channel our inner activist and demand change for a better world.

So...how does this tie in with my babbling about the weather? I believe this whacky weather is nature telling us it’s out of balance.   It’s a wake-up call to change our ways.  We need to focus on cleaner and greener energy and embrace the environment rather then destroy it--and by saying no to the Pipeline--Americans have done just that.

And yes, all of this coming for the tee shirt girl.  Well it is after all free to be yoga tees, yoga apparel & state of mind!  If this is of no interest to you, just ignore me of course.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. :) It’s been interesting to watch all of this unfold.  It was also quite amazing to witness those most passionate about it stand firm for a cause they so deeply believed in--and no matter which side you tend to lean--I think you can agree it’s wonderful to have the freedom to be heard!

The message is loud and clear...it’s time to put your foot down and stand up for what you believe in.  Collectively we can strive to make a difference and build a brighter (and greener!!) world for future generations!   The Keystone Pipeline is a prime example of this...proof positive we truly can be the change.

Until next time...

New Year

“Change is not something that we should fear.  Rather, it is something that we should welcome.  For without change, nothing in this world would ever grow or blossom, and no one in this world would ever move forward to become the person they’re meant to be.” -anonymous

I came across this quote and was immediately inspired.  What a great way to kick off the new year!

Hello 2012!

Time to start making your list of New Year’s resolutions, right?  Does it ever make you wonder why we wait until a new year to make changes in our lives?

We can embrace change anytime we want.  It doesn’t have to be a new year to set goals for positive change.  Whether you want to exercise more, eat healthier, work on relationships, or perhaps save the world, there is no one standing in your way of doing that any day of the year!

So even if you set out with a list of resolutions to kick off 2012, have no fear if you fall short.  Tomorrow is a new day, and change is ready when you are!

Seize the day!
